Summer Camp 2025

Registration opens February 8th!

Our camps are for children that have finished kindergarten through fifth grade only.

This guide includes information on each camp, how to register, what to pack, and more -

everything you need to know is in the camp guide!

The regular camp day is now 9am-3pm and we've added some fun new camps!

Membership: Parents and grandparents at a family/senior membership or above can register children/grandchildren.  Membership must be current at time of registration and during the selected camp session.  If you need to become a member, please click here Membership Application. Membership applications are processed Tuesday-Friday during business hours.

Shot Records: Shot records need to be submitted every year.  Due to the increasing numbers of people infected with dangerous communicable diseases in the US, we are only allowing Medical Exemptions for vaccinations. REQUEST FOR MEDICAL EXEMPTION TO IMMUNIZATION.docx or contact Deanna at 607-732-6060 for a paper copy of the Medical Exemption Form. Thank you for helping us keep the camp children, visitors and staff healthy. You can email shot records to tanglewoodoffmgr@outlook.com or mail them to 443 Coleman Ave., Elmira, NY 14903.  We are not requiring campers to have their Covid vaccine.

What does my camper need each day: Campers should bring a lunch, reusable LARGE water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, and a smile! (No phones, electronics, or personal toys/games) Campers should dress for the weather, rain or shine, and wear comfortable close-toed shoes. Keep in mind that we will be exploring the woods, meadows, and ponds – clothes will get wet or dirty! Bringing rubber boots, water shoes, or an extra pair of socks and sneakers is a good idea.

Looking for a summer job?  Become a  Camp Counselor!  We are looked for outgoing,  passionate people to join us this summer as counselors! You can find all the requirements and details here. If you are interested, please submit your application,  resume, and cover letter to Camp Director Maggie Groce (volunteer.tanglewood@gmail.com). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and remain open until all positions are filled.

Counselor in Training Program: Counselors-in-Training (CITs) are youth leaders aged 15+ who assist the camp counselors in providing a safe and fun camp experience at Tanglewood. They will help lead environmental education activities, games, crafts, songs, stories, hikes, and more. Our CITs will also assist with camp preparation, check-in and check-out, and will serve as a positive role model for children in camp. This is an educational position that will involve being placed with two counselors each session for mentoring. Each CIT commits to a minimum of three weeks over the summer. CIT applications can be found on our website and are due by May 16th to the Camp Director, Maggie Groce (volunteer.tanglewood@gmail.com).  Application can be found here.
