2/20/24—Migration with Ryan: Did you know that the bar-tailed godwit has the longest nonstop migration for a bird travelling over 7,500 miles (the distance from Alaska to New Zealand)? Or that monarch butterflies migrate in colonies numbering in the tens of thousands in order to stay warm as they travel to the mountains of Mexico? In this camp we are going to further explore the behavior of migration through education, arts and crafts and games!
2/21/24—Animal Adaptations with Megan: Have you ever wondered why chinchillas are so soft, why an owl can turn its head so far around, or maybe even why tarantulas look hairy? Join us as we explore the adaptations of some of our local animals, including those who call Tanglewood home. Through interactive games and experiments we'll discover why certain animals have developed unique adaptations.
2/22/24—Hibernation with Maggie: Come spend a cold, winter morning learning about how some animals spend their winter days: hibernating! During this jam-packed morning, we’ll meet animals like the hedgehog and ferret, play some games, and even create our own hibernation stations (forts!). Come dressed for the weather, so we can spend some time outside.
