Virtual Trivia with Tanglewood! It's BYO couch, device, and beverage this time. Ian returns as your beloved local DJ Naturalist, this time spinning tunes and factoids through the wonders of Zoom.

General trivia this time - expect a range of sports, entertainment, and some winter science and nature topics.

$5 per person, max 6 people on a team, max of 10 teams. (Your teammates can obviously be spread out - you don't all have to be in the same house!)

Pre-registration is required by Wed. 12/2 5pm.

Cash prize for the winning team!

Q&A:

Q. Can my team members be in their own house with their own accounts?
A. Yes. Please keep practicing social distancing! Team members may log in with their own accounts from anywhere.

Q. What is the cost to register?
A. The cost to play is $5 per person, your team leader will need to register and pay for everyone on the team at once. (We trust you to sort out paying each other back on your own.)

Q. How do I register?
A. One member of your team will need to register here, on our website! Make sure the person registering knows the emails of all the team members before registering.
Don't forget to purchase 50 bonus points for $10!

Q. How do I join the game?
A. After you register your team, you will receive an email from Ian (tanglewoodnaturalist@gmail.com) with a Zoom meeting invitation that will include a link to the meeting. Plan on joining the meeting by 7pm on the 4th.

Tech Requirements

Q. What do I need to play?
A. You will need to have a device (phone or computer with a microphone) with the Zoom app. We strongly recommend a computer or tablet over a phone. Get it here: https://zoom.us/download

Q. Do I need to pay for an account?
A. No. Players can use a free account. To create an account, go here: https://zoom.us/signup.

Q. I’ve never used Zoom, where can I go to learn how to use it?
A. Zoom has a great support page with a video, here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-Meeting

Q. Will I need to have my camera on during the game?
A. No. You will not need your camera during normal play but we’d love to see you! You can always use a virtual background (see the question below).

Q. Do I need to have my microphone on during the game?
A. No. But you will need a microphone if your teammates are not physically with you and you wish to discuss answers during the team breakouts.

Gameplay

Q. How will questions be presented?
A. The host will verbally ask the question twice for players.

Q. How will I discuss answers with my team without everyone hearing me?
A. After a question is asked, the host will push everyone into “breakout rooms” for time to discuss with their teams. In the breakout room, teams can talk privately without anyone hearing.

Q. How will we submit answers without others hearing/seeing?
A. All answers will be submitted through the chat function upon return from the breakout rooms. The host will set restrictions so players can only send messages to the host. Players will need to list their team name with each answer.
